About Us

Who We Are
GD Consultancy Training Solutions was founded in St Andrews by Grant Duff, a psychologist, lecturer and training specialist with more than 25 years’ experience across psychology, mental health and criminal justice.
What We Do
We design and deliver trauma-informed training, psychological consultancy, and bespoke course development across Scotland and the UK. Our focus is practical, evidence-based training that equips professionals and carers with the skills to support vulnerable groups confidently and compassionately.
Why We Do It
We believe effective training changes lives. From frontline carers to national programme leaders, those who work with people deserve knowledge, tools, and confidence. Our mission is to make that happen.
Our Experience
-
Education & Academia: Former Head of Psychology for the Scottish FE Colleges Teaching Excellence Network where Grant pioneered psychology programmes later adopted nationally.
-
Government & Criminal Justice: Served as Psychological Development Lead within the Scottish Government’s Criminal Justice wing, designing offender treatment programmes, risk-management tools, and multi-agency training used across Police, Prisons, Criminal Justice Social Work and the NHS.
-
Health & Social Care: Senior leadership roles with a major private healthcare provider, including Mental Health Lead for Scotland. Developed training adopted nationally, improved failing services, and achieved strong regulatory outcomes.
-
Independent Consultancy: Since 2019, providing psychological and specialist consultancy to healthcare providers, prisons, and hospitals across the UK. Supporting services with bespoke staff development programmes, coaching and mentoring.
Recognition
Grant has delivered keynote lectures, spoken at national conferences, contributed to policy development, and provided expert witness evidence to the Scottish judiciary. His work has been featured by televised media for pioneering approaches in offender management and criminal justice.
A Personal Note
We know the pressures of frontline practice. We’ve led services, trained teams, and supported people through some of the toughest challenges. Our training is not just about knowledge — it’s about giving people confidence to make a lasting difference.

Our Mission & Ethos
At GD Consultancy Training Solutions, our mission is to empower individuals and organisations to understand, respond to, and recover from psychological trauma through evidence-based, compassionate training. Each programme is targeted, tailored, and transformative, helping professionals build confidence, improve care, and create safer, trauma-informed environments where people can truly thrive.
We believe lasting change begins with understanding — and with people who are supported to think, feel, and act differently. That’s why our work is rooted in Scotland’s National Trauma Training Framework and the development of the National Trauma Informed Network (NTIN), of which we are a proud founding member.
Through this partnership, GDC continues to champion evidence-based, trauma-informed practice across sectors, turning policy into practical, compassionate action that protects futures and empowers minds.
